Escrevo agora de Belo Horizonte, sede da Terra Brasil Turismo. Acabei de chegar aqui com os 9 estudantes da região. Tudo correu bem!! Vou contar para vocês os últimos momentos que passei junto com os estudantes!
Da última vez que escrevi, estávamos em Manaus embarcando no barco para o inicio de nossa grande aventura! 10 km navegando abaixo pelo Rio Negro, chegamos ao espetacular encontro das Águas. Com certeza, o lindo fenômeno que presenciamos ficará guardado em nossa memória para sempre! Na Amazônia tem uma coisa muito interessante e que para nós chega a soar estranho: O rio é visto como rua! Existem restaurantes, barcos de linha (que para nos seriam os ônibus de linha), posto de gasolina com lojinha de conveniência, ferro-velho e tudo isso flutuante! Almoçamos a bordo de nosso barco/casa e paramos no Parque Ecológico January. Como o rio está muito cheio, tivemos que pegar pequenas canoas para chegar no Lago das "vitórias-régias", uma das mais lindas plantas que simbolizam a Amazônia e também conhecida como a Rainha dos Lagos. Continuamos nosso "cruzeiro" e fizemos um passeio de canoas pelos Igapós e Igarapés. Jantamos em nosso barco e pernoitamos nas redes!
Na segunda-feira após um delicioso café da manhã, saímos em canoas e fomos pescar piranhas. A tarde, após o almoço, NADAMOS COM OS BOTOS!!! Todos tiraram muitas fotos, filmaram e ficaram bastante animados!!!
Ontem acordamos cedo e seguimos em nossa “casa flutuante” com destino a Manaus, onde a noite e durante a madrugada todos pegaram vôo para suas cidades anfitriãs! Todos os desembarques ocorreram bem!!
Gostaria de agradecer a todos os participantes da viagem! AMO todos vocês e já estou sentindo muita saudade! Aos nossos Chaperones Roseli e Rui Distrito 4310, deixo aqui nosso agradecimento por terem sido tão atenciosos e companheiros nossos e dos estudantes (Roseli, sentirei saudade de nossas conversas nas manhas e tardes no barco...haja assunto!!)rs! Muito obrigada do fundo do coração! Gostaria de agradecer também ao Rotary, pela oportunidade que nos dá de ter essa missão tão prazerosa, que é mostrar nosso País maravilhoso para os estudantes!

I write from Belo Horizonte, Terra Brasil Turismo office and where I live. I just arrived now from São Paulo, with the other 9 students from Minas Gerais region. I’m going to tell you now the last days I spent with the students.
The last time I wrote, we were in Manaus leaving on boat for the beginning of our big adventure. After floating 10 km down the Negro River, we arrived at the spectacular meeting of the Waters. For sure it is a beautiful phenomenon that we will remember forever! In the Amazon there is something very interesting and for us it sounds strange: The River is just like a city street. There are restaurants, boat companies (just like bus companies), gas a station with convenience stores, junkyards and all of it is floating! We had lunch at our house/boat and then we stopped at the January Ecological Park. The river is really full, so we had to pick up canoes to go to the "Vitorias-Régias" Lake. This plant is one of the most beautiful symbols of the Amazon, and is known as the Queen of the Lakes. We continued our "cruise”, and did a canoe excursion through the Igapós and the Igarapés. We had dinner on our boat and slept in our hammocks!
On Sunday we had the so expected Survival course in the jungle! We woke up early and divided the group in two small groups, and started our trek with some army reserves through the Forest. During the day we learned how to survive in the forest; make fire, shelters, and find food and water! The students loved it! At night, after a delicious dinner, we picked up small boats to see the Amazon at night!! We picked up some alligators and we made silence for few minutes to brood about what we can do nowadays and in the future to preserve this wonderful place!!
On Monday after a delicious breakfast we went in canoes to fish for "piranhas." Some students were successful!! After, we went to swim with the Pink “dolphins”!! All students were really excited, took a lot of picture and make some videos of it!!
On Tuesday morning we went to another community called Terra Preta. The guys played soccer while the girls played with the native children. It was really emotional! At night, the last of the trip, we had a fantastic Luau in a small beach with barbecue, torch and a lot of music! Everyone danced a lot and went to bed late and really tired!
Yesterday we woke up and started our journey back at our “floating house” to Manaus, where everybody took their flights back to their host towns at night. All disembarks ended up well.
I would like to thank all the students for the trip! I really love all of you and I already miss everyone! I would also like to thank our Chaperone couple Roseli and Rui (District 4310), for being so kind and nice with us and the students (Roseli, Thanks for the sooooooo many nice conversation at the boat... I loved them!!) Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart! I would like to thank Rotary Club, for the chance they give us to be in such an enjoyable mission, which is to show our wonderful country to the exchange students!
